Houstonians of All Ages Play Once-In-A-Lifetime Concert at Iconic Venue

Houston, Texas (June 2, 2015) – Vivaldi Music Academy, Houston’s premier and largest private music school, is proud to announce that 40 of their students and eight faculty members will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Saturday, June 27, 2015. Houstonians of all ages and backgrounds will take their well-rehearsed talents across the country to perform at the world-renowned Weill Recital Hall at the legendary venue.

“We are creating a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for music students to be inspired,” said Zeljko Pavlovic, critically acclaimed violinist and owner/founder of the Vivaldi Music Academy. “To give aspiring musicians a chance to play in such a beautiful and historic venue is a dream come true for us. Preparing for this concert is motivating our students to do their best and will be something they remember forever,” said Mr. Pavlovic, who believes that both individual lives and the community are made better through music.

Last fall, the Academy introduced students and instructors to this unique opportunity to perform at one of the most prestigious musical venues in the world. Registration was offered on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 9:00 a.m. on November 15, 2014. Eager parents began lining up outside the Academy’s doors at 5 am, and all 40 spots were filled within minutes of the doors opening.

The two-hour performance begins at 7:30 p.m. at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, starting with the world famous third movement of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons Concerto, “Spring.” From there, the recital hits all the right notes with selections ranging from Beethoven to Journey, highlighting the student’s wide range of talents and interests. The Vivaldi Academy faculty will round out the second half of the performance with pieces including a vocal favorite, “Summertime,” from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, and the “Winter Wind” Etude by Chopin. Mr. Zeljko and his father Branko offer the grand finale in the form of the Romani anthem, “Djelem Djelem”. The directors’ five-year-old Alexander will perform solos on both piano and violin – highlighting the three generations performing at Carnegie Hall.

Vivaldi Music Academy has achieved national recognition for its thorough and exceptional musical instruction with its selection as the 2014 National Music School of the Year from a field of over 100 music schools across the country. “We are proud to be able to offer this opportunity to our students, it’s the kind of experience that develops a life-long appreciation for music,” said Mr. Pavlovic.
