Market day at Houston Can Academy Hobby campus took place May, 29, 2015. Students sold items that they had created for market day to fellow students and staff.  The students learned the basics of entrepreneurship, project management, advertising, marketing, budgeting and event preparation. Each student created a plan during class, created their products and marketed through posters and displays.  Students Guillermo Martinez, Jacqueline Garcia, and Rodolfo Llano sold the most products during the market day event. The products they created were duct tape wallets, pens, rings and works of art.  This was the first market day for the public charter school and they look forward to expanding market day with increased student, staff and community participation in the coming years. Special congratulations to Ms. Rena Iglehart, a Houston Can Academy teacher, who spearheaded the market day event.
