Recently, McCarthy Building Companies’ Houston office hosted its annual Charity Casino Night benefiting Texas Children's Hospital. The event drew a crowd of more than 200 McCarthy employees, partners, subcontractors and Texas Children’s clients raising money via sponsorships, McCarthy was able to exceed the original goal of $25,000 and donate $37,000 to the hospital.

McCarthy has worked with Texas Children’s over the last four years whether it be via projects or charity work they have done.

Texas Children's is the largest pediatric cancer and hematology center in the United States. The facility provides medical treatment for patients with childhood cancer and childhood blood disorders. The world-renowned staff of 190 faculty and more than 1,000 staff members have pioneered many of the now standard protocols for treating and curing pediatric cancer and blood disorders. 

The Charity Casino Night was made possible by McCarthy's "Heart Hats" program, an initiative dedicated to encouraging, supporting and recognizing McCarthy employees' volunteer efforts in a variety of causes to ensure real needs are being met in communities where employees work, live and play. This company-wide volunteer program allows McCarthy employees across the country to take at least one (paid) full-day off from work annually to utilize their building skills and other talents to aid local organizations such as Texas Children’s Hosptial.
